I do find it annoying that in a Texas forum that it seems like people still want to perpetuate the myth that all southerners, or Texans are down home, country lovin, simplefolk. Texas has spawned internationally famous bands and musical groups from almost every style. Groups just off the top of my head. ZZ Top, The Butthole Surfers, Destiny's Child, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pimpadellic, Local H, Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, Buck Owens, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Selena Quintanilla, The Mars Volta, Tripping Daisy, The Polyphonic Spree, Mike Nesmith of the Monkeys, Don Henley of the Eagles, Ragtime composer, Scott Joplin; and lots more.
